Grade School
Christ-Centered Education
First German exists to assist parents in bringing up their children spiritually, socially, and academically. We strive for excellence from our students and show them the potential God has given them through their varied gifts and talents.

First German is a WELS institution where God’s Word is taught daily, and the students are taught to live a life that is grounded in the Word. All of our classes are taught in light of God’s Word and His word permeates every aspect of our school day.

First German also trains children to share the Good News they have learned. God tells us to, “Go and make disciples of all nations” and not only do we train his disciples, but we prepare them to be lights shining in this world.

First German’s curriculum is designed to train our students for high school, but also for life as a child of God.

First German’s Curriculum takes students from the basics of Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies to the heights of their potential. We push the students to do their best in everything they do, not only to please their parents, teachers, and themselves, but to say thank you to our Lord and Savior as well. It is through these classes that the students gain the knowledge and skills they will need in high school to be successful.

In our curriculum, the students also learn how to think critically, work independently as well as in a group, and to become responsible for the work they have to complete each day. We also develop the students communication, creative, and Fine Art’s skill.   It is also our hope that students gain an appreciation for an active and healthy lifestyle and the fine arts. All of these skills are necessary for our students, not only in high school, but also in the rest of their lives.

All of these classes and skills are used to train outstanding and well-rounded Christian citizens. They will be equipped with the knowledge to succeed in higher education, the skills to tackle everyday problems, and the understanding of the love of their Lord and Savior who is the motivation for everything that we think, say, and do.

Fine Arts
The goal of the First German Fine Arts program is to develop students' gifts in art, music, and drama, so they may use those gifts to the glory of God.

First German provides the students with the opportunity to be a part of the Fine Arts. Every classroom has art class to develop, learn, and apply their artistic skills and abilities. The students also have many musical opportunities in which they can participate. We offer band, choir, plays and handbells for the students to let their musical gifts and talents shine.

Students are also encouraged to use their musical gifts to serve their Lord in chapel and at church.

The goal of First German Athletics is to praise our Lord with the abilities he has given us. It is also to maintain a healthy lifestyle by being active throughout the school year, learn to work cooperatively as a team, and to build a sense of good sportsmanship among our young Christians.

First German is in the Lakeshore Lutheran Schools League and is currently in Division 1. We have Fall, Winter, and Spring sporting seasons and offer various camps through our local WELS high school and surrounding locations throughout the summer. First German participates in Volleyball, Soccer, Cross Country, Basketball, Cheerleading, and Track.

Our sports programs are designed to allow children of various athletic ability to participate, play, and learn in the various sports offered.
